Asset managers play a key financing role for the benefit of the real economy.
By investing money on behalf of their clients, asset managers channel savings into the real economy, for example by investing in companies or infrastructure projects. By doing this, they create jobs and strengthen the economy. As traditional financing through bank loans becomes less accessible and more expensive, asset managers will be even more important in financing our economy in the future. Non-bank credit intermediation by collective investment vehicles more than doubled between 2007 and 2015.
